Specifics:

Date:  November 5, 2017

Time:  10:00AM

Location:  California State Capital in Sacramento.

What’s our message:

  • We are honest, hardworking, law abiding California gun owners.
  • We come from all walks of life.  The media stereotype of gun owners is false.
  • We care about our rights and we want them restored to us.
  • We are mobilized and becoming organized.
  • We vote and we speak up.  We’ve been silent, but no longer.

If you plan to attend, I suggest the following guidelines:

  • Dress properly.  Remember, the world is watching.  Please no camouflage, no tactical gear, no weapons.  We are good, honest citizens.  Let’s make sure the world knows it.
  • Be respectful of everyone.
  • Obey law enforcement.  If we are asked to move, then we move.

What we need now:

  • A local contact in Sacramento to gather the following information:

    • Can we meet in front of the capital legally?
    • If not, where can we meet in the general area of the capital?
    • Do we need a permit?  If so, how do we obtain one and what is the cost?
    • Is there an area near the capital that we can meet which does not require a permit?
  • Media coverage

    • Contact your local conservative radio talk show and ask them to promote this event.  If they need to speak to me, please have them contact me at gunguytv@gmail.com.   I will get right back to them.  They can also contact Matt at NeverEnoughAmmo.
  • Organizational Involvement:

    • Please contact these organizations and urge them to get involved:
      • California Rifle & Pistol Association: Phone: 800-305-2772

  • Guest Speakers and Political Involvement:

  1. As for locations, I know that William Land Regional Park isn’t supper close to the capitol but if we can get some media attention then it may be better then total cancellation. I have not spent a ton of time in that park but the times I have been there, homeless have not been an issue. In fact, I cant say that I have ever seen any homeless there. Land park is about 5 miles by road from the capitol.

  2. Update: 3:02PM 10/26/2017 From the GunGuy. From what I can determine, having this event on the Capital Grounds is not likely to happen. The cost is much too high and there is no time in which to obtain a permit. I’m still checking on local parks. There is a considerable homeless problem in Sacramento, from what I’m told. Consequently, some local parks may have been taken over by the homeless. There is a strong likelihood that we will have to cancel the event, but take heart. This has been a great process. We have learned a ton and made some useful connections along the way. I’m going to give it a day to settle out. Maybe I’ll get responses from the folks I reached out to. Hang in there.

  3. Update: 1:16PM 10/26/2017 From the GunGuy. I spent my morning working the phones and sending emails. I’ve been a good little gardener. I’ve planted and watered all day. At this point, it’s time to stop, wait and see if something sprouts.

  4. Update: 11:40AM 10/26/2017 From the GunGuy. I’ve been busy working the phones and emails this morning. Here’s what I’ve accomplished so far: I emailed Mike Slater and Carl Demaio (both are conservative radio talk show hosts in San Diego). I’ve also spoken with the California Rifle and Pistol Association and Gun Owners of California to request their help. I spoke with Assemblyman Randy Voepel’s office. They offered to help. They will contact Gun Owners of California to urge them to help us. Assemblyman Voepel’s office is also going to contact other conservative California legislators to ask for their help. Lastly, I spoke with Senator Joel Anderson’s office. They suggested that we try hosting the event at a local park, rather than on the Capital grounds, since the Capital is cost prohibitive and the permit process is daunting. If you live in the Sacramento area and have the ability to locate a local park near the capital or can contact the city to check on the permit process and cost, it would help a ton.

  5. Update: 11:21AM 10/26/2017 From Sammuel T. in Sacramento:  The CHP( California Highway Patrol) is in charge of matters in terms of peaceful and lawful assembly at the capital.  If 100 or more people show up, we will need to put money on an Insurance bond for one million dollars.  We will also be responsible for any clean up or damages that occur.  Also “Permits may be requested no more than one year in advance and must be submitted a minimum of 10 business days prior to the commencement of the event” here’s their FAQ from which I got this information. https://capitolpermits.chp.ca.gov/Home/FAQ This is their email : capitolpermits@chp.ca.gov and phone number 916-445-3876.
