I recently had a viewer of GunGuyTV send me a link to a book by P.A. Luty entitled “Expedient Homemade Firearms – The 9mm Submachine Gun.” I’m embarrassed to admit that I had never previously heard of Mr. Luty or his book. To put it mildly, I found the book both exciting and fascinating. Mr. Luty proved that anyone can build a submachine gun at home with simple tools and parts that can be purchased at just about any hardware store. Not only did he prove it, he did it! He even published the plans and step-by-step directions in a book. Unfortunately, being a British subject, he ended up being prosecuted as a result. Still, I was very intrigued by the book. So, I did some quick research on the web. The result is the list of videos below.
Mr. Luty’s story is very engaging. Particularly given the current state of gun rights in the United States and the direction that gun-control appears to be going. The first video is the one embedded below. It tells much of Mr. Luty’s story. So I won’t bother to repeat it here. I will simply relate that Mr. Luty clearly demonstrated the impossibility of banning all firearms. He proved without any doubt that if somebody wants a firearm, they can simply build one. Sadly, I could not find a copy of Mr. Luty’s book for sale anywhere. It may well be out of print. Given the politically incorrect subject matter I’m not surprised. However, you’re in luck. You’ll find a PDF copy of Mr. Luty’s book for download here.
The one thing that I feel compelled to remind you of is this: building Mr. Luty’s gun may be completely illegal where you live. Since I never encourage people to break the law, I strongly suggest that you check local, state and federal law before you engage in such a project.
