If our leaders are unwilling to educate politicians as to why their policies are flawed or that it is impossible to rationalize with irrational people (i.e., de-escalation) or that their naivety makes them sound completely ignorant, how will they ever know? Or…. they do know, they don’t care, and our job no longer matters.
It’s Independence Day… And we are regaining our liberty! The Supreme Court has been dismantling the administrative state and putting teeth back in the Second Amendment. At the same, billionaires and business owners are striking out to create platforms through which we can exercise our First Amendment rights of free speech. Other companies have created media outlets where uncensored information has been made available to Americans once more. And one man, Donald Trump, has been working nonstop to elect Constitutional freedom loving representatives to the United States House and Senate.
Both YouTube and Vimeo recently deleted an interview I did with Rick Travis from the California Rifle and Pistol Association. Apparently, they didn’t like a roughly two minute discussion that Rick and I had.
President Joe Biden seems to be following the only mantra he knows when it comes to confronting America’s rising crime worries. Go after the Second Amendment and the firearm industry that makes the exercise of the right possible.
The coincidental spending by gun control groups and the insistence on restrictive laws by gun control politicians is too obvious. The U.S. House of Representatives passed two gun control bills within days of Congress convening – one to require so-called “universal background checks” (a necessary pre-cursor to national gun registration) and the other to endlessly delay background check determinations. They were passed on near-party lines and with no committee debate. Both bills went straight to the House floor and were rubber stamped and sent to the U.S. Senate.
In remarks to media pushing his gun control agenda, Sen. Schumer said, “…the evil gun dealers, pushed by the NRA, have used gun shows as a major way to get guns into the hands of people without a background check.” What is evil is the senator’s twisted distortions to bastardize the truth to disarm Americans.
Democrats have just one obstacle when it comes to achieving their vaunted gun control utopia. It’s you – the completely irrational, rights-demanding, unreasonable and uncompromising American. You “selfish” gun owners. You are the unbending firearm makers and gun buyers. You are what is stopping gun control in America. That’s what the parade of Democratic lawmakers and their fawning news anchor endorsers are pitching now.
The total economic impact of the firearm and ammunition industry in the United States increased from $19.1 billion in 2008 to $63.5 billion in 2019, a 232 percent increase, while the total number of full-time equivalent jobs rose from approximately 166,000 to over 342,330, a 106 percent increase in that period, according to a report released by the National Shooting Sports Foundation®, the industry’s trade association.
U.S. Rep. Burgess Owens (R-Utah) took to the floor of the House of Representatives with a reminder to the politicians pushing gun control. Those proposals have their roots in a racist past and it only serves to further victimize disaffected communities.
Instead of publishing the exact figures reported by the CDC, the authors elected to condense and convert the numbers to push their agenda: blaming the existence of firearms for unintentional deaths of children.
