The Great Remington 1100 & 11-87 – Two Terrific Shotguns

The Remington 11-87 and the Remington 1100 are both outstanding shotguns. There is very little difference between the two other than the fact that the 11-87 has a gas compensation system that allows everything from light 2-3/4″ shells to heavy 3″ loads like buckshot and slugs to be fired. Not so with the 1100… particularly the older ones. I see 1100s and 11-87s in the field during hunting trips all the time. I’ve always love these shotguns. They are well made, extremely reliable, well balanced and have a wonderful habit of knocking game birds out of the sky with ease. I love ’em.
